- Digital (PDF) patterns are currently exempt from tariffs.

- Shipping to the US from Australia has been paused until there is a solution found to collect, then remit tariffs and taxes. This applies to all businesses, not just Red Boots.
- Etsy has suspended shipping labels to the US from Australia, UK, Canada and others until further notice. Again, this is all businesses, not just Red Boots.


The United States government has announced that new tariffs are being imposed on all countries as of the 29th August 2025. 

The de minimis of $800.00 has been removed which means that any item sent to the US under this value will now be subject to tariffs.

The tariff currently imposed on Australia is 10%. This means a fee of 10% of the value of your order will be charged. The tariff must be paid before the item is sent, otherwise the goods will be turned away at US customs.

In addition to this, there are unconfirmed reports that some carriers, including USPS, will choose to impose their own fee of $80+ per package instead.

We’ve been informed that Australia Post is working closely with USPS to put a system in place for tariff / fee collection. They are currently leaning towards implementing the 10% tariff, however, until this is officially in place we (unfortunately) can’t ship to the US as your order will likely be returned.

This does not affect shipping the rest of the world.

It is very disheartening for us as a small business, and awful for you as a US customer. We can only hope for a concrete decision from the US government, which will allow us to have a system in place to move forward.

- The "Celebrations" fabric collection by Katie Pasquini Masopust has been cancelled. The fabric won't be produced. I will update pattern to use generic fabric. My apologies to anyone who pre-ordered the fabric, FreeSpirit didn't let me know about the cancellation.

Hi y'all, I'm getting a lot of enquiries regarding the new, upcoming FreeSpirit Fabric patterns.

Firstly, thank you for your enquiries and your patience. I know this has been a pain in the toosh for everyone involved.

Because the fabric collections haven't been released yet, I have a little bit of time before we need to make a decision re their publication. Scroll for release dates.

I’m currently working with suppliers regarding the printed patterns, and I’m hoping to be able to re-release the digital patterns sometime soon, but there are a lot of a problems to overcome with the new tariffs. We don't know how they're going to apply to digital products as yet.

Please check back at the end of September, we should know more by then.

Important Information Re Pre-ordered Quilt Kits
Please be advised that I’ve had no correspondence from stores regarding fabric kits for these patterns. I can't guarantee their pre-cut kits will have the correct amount of fabric in them to make the quilts, and I can't guarantee you will be able to buy a copy of the pattern. The Red Boot Quilt Co. is not liable for any costs or damages in relation to the sale of these quilt/fabric kits.

Please, always ask the fabric vendor about the kits before purchasing. You need to know whether they have a copy of the updated pattern and materials list. The materials lists provided in the pre-release catalogue/s are, at best, estimates.

These patterns are designed using digital images provided by FreeSpirit Fabrics. I’m not given the fabric, just a set of digital images. There are always changes to be made to both the pattern image and the materials list.
