Happy Easter, Sew-Along Block 4, Friendship Garden Fabric
Hiya lovelies, Happy Easter!
Block 4 of the sew-along has been uploaded. You can download the file here.

This week's block is semi inspired by these old fashioned freesias and the pink & white striped chrysanthemums we planted last year. I'm not sure how many of the freesias survived the scrub turkey's Spring purge (apparently the bulbs are tasty) and I think I lost the chryssie when Cyclone Alfred came through. I've got my fingers crossed that one of the cuttings I took at the time has survived.

I've finally sewn a border to the alley cats quilt. I couldn't get my scrap bin border blocks to fit the quilt, so I decided to follow Gwen Marston's advice and improv it. If the borders don't fit, make them fit!

I'm extremely happy with the outcome. When I write the pattern the borders will fit the quilt, however I was determined to use these blocks instead of wasting them, so there we are.

Gail, from Gail Pan Designs has very kindly sent me some of her new fabric range to play with! It's called Friendship Garden and it's GORGEOUS. It's due to ship in May this year, so nag your local quilt store to stock it for you :o)
I love the soft colours and I hope I can do it justice. You can find a list of stockists on Gail's website and the fabric is made by Henry Glass. There are (17) different fabrics plus a panel. The panel is stunning and you can see it here.

I've uploaded the "Apple Pie Log Cabin" quilt pattern to the website and it's only $5. It measures 63" x 78" and is a quick, enjoyable quilt to put together. There's nothing like a classic log cabin quilt to soothe the nerves (and who doesn't feel a bit anxious with all that's happening in the world at the moment).
Well I'm done for the day. Oh, BTW I've decided to delete my Substack account. I was encouraged to use them for blogging, but it's just another platform that wants me to spend ridiculous amounts of time fighting to be seen and I don't think you should pay to read my ramblings. I'd rather be sewing and there are better things (for you) to spend your money on.
Take care of yourselves, take a break and don't read the news this weekend.
Happy chocolatey Easter, toni xx
