About Red Boots & Happy Quilts

Hi! I'm Toni, the owner and creator behind Red Boot Quilts.
I live in Australia with my family and two grumpy ginger moggies. I drink far too many cups of tea, caramel rooibos is a current favourite, and I'm on a quest to find the perfect gluten free chocolate chip cookie.

I started quilting in the early 1990's and soon discovered a love of making goofy, fun quilts, with muppet-like characters. These are loved by both children and adults alike. Come on in and say hello!

Paper Dolls

The new 'Paper Dolls' quilt pattern is now available!

The new pattern has improved templates and extra critters including a fox, rabbit, and squirrel. The pattern also includes a new Grandma block!

If you have purchased a copy of the $5 pattern (the old one) from this website, you will receive an automatic update when it's uploaded - meaning you won't have to re-purchase the pattern.

Add-on packs of templates will be available in the future.

I will be using this quilt as a template for the 'Fairytale' quilt (our previous sew-along). I'll be uploading it in the new year.

  • Size 70 1/2" x 70 1/2" (180cm x 180cm)
  • Designed for FreeSpirit Fabrics using the "What the Birds Said" fabric collection by Cori Dantini.
  • The fabric collection is due for release in January 2026.
  • The pattern is a little different from the original submission due to fussy cutting changes.
  • The borders aren't rounded in the pattern, this is a quirk of the website. You can of course round them off if you prefer!
